Rituals
These are examples of specific rituals that Sidhe use. Players can either use these in the RPG or use them to create their own rituals (please discuss this with a host or hostess first).
Blood Price
To swear blood price on someone means that the next time two fey meet, the offending fey will answer to the fey that swore blood price. One of the fey will die, and only then is the blood price satisfied. The court of the slain fey will not seek vengeance for the kill.
Duels
The ritual for a duel binds the participants in mortal combat. In the Unseelie court they share blood before fighting. There are three different types of blood oath. For first blood the lip is cut and the two kiss to seal the blood oath. For second blood the lip and a wrist is cut, and pressed together along with the kiss. Third blood involved the previous two wounds, as well as a cut at the base of the throat. All three wounds are pressed together.
All Duels are formed in a sacred circle traced by the ruler, usually in full view of the court. Within the circle it is a sacred placce. The duel is over when one of the participants is either dead or unable to leave the circle under their own power.
Calling a Goblin by Blade
A Sidhe can use a blace to call a goblin, although it is a very old method and is rarely used. Blood needs to be wiped over the blade and the magic is willed into the blade by the Sidhe. Then while picturing the goblin (appearance, voice, attitude), the following words are said:
Goblin's name, I call you; Goblin's title, I call you; Goblin's name and rank, I call you. Thrice called, thrice named, come to me Goblin's name, come answer your blade.
The naming of three is the post powerful way of calling a goblin, and only the most powerful of gobins can ignore it. In addition, breathing on the blade sends a Sidhe's breath to the goblin, and it blows against their skin.
Virgin Rights -
Based on an old Celtic Ideal, Virgin Rights is when a fey stands on their own for a minimum of three years, owning nothing to anyone. To invoke Virgin Rights means that a fey is outside any old fueds or grudges, and is thus neutral.
